On the other hand, if you had expected to buy it for our joint account, I should have declined to join you in the purchase, being satisfied that I would not now care to participate in the scattering or division, as we contemplated, of a collection such as this is. So long as it remains in my possession, it shall not be divided, nor shall a single impression be taken therefrom. I can, and I think I do, appreciate your present feelings, but I believe that eventually you will acknowledge the justice and importance of my position in the matter.
