Dear Stanford:-

In Russell's absence, I am trying to help Donaldson with some of the matters at the bank, and I got the impression in some way that you preferred to have the plaster work coated with thin shellac or a wash of some sort or other, hence my telegram to Dewing and his reply after having seen you. To-day, we received your letter to Russell and another from Dewing, and in compliance with both, we will omit to coat the plaster, and will keep the scaffold intact, so that when you you come out you can examine the work fully.

Dewing writes me very enthusiastically observing the new plan for my house with gallery over living-room, I too like it greatly.

Yesterday, I wrote to Senator McMillan concerning the possibility of his being in Detroit on the 22nd just. I shall also stir around and see how many others
