many beautiful art objects which I would not have had but for your intelligent attention to my wants.

Don't feel that in writing me as you did about burning the screen, I took the slightest offense. I quite understood the mood you were in when you wrote, and I am constantly doing much more foolish things than that every day of my life.  
   
I hope the holiday season is proving happy to you and yours. May you all have many returns of real joy and prosperity.
