Mr. Robert C. Schenck,
President the Akron Malleable Iron Co.,
Dayton, Ohio.

My dear Mr. Schenck:-

Let me thank you for your kind letter of the 28th instant. The American Trust & Savings Bank, of Chicago, has been appointed administrator of our old friend Billy Wilson's estate. George Harris, Vice President C. B. & Q. R. R. and I, have agreed to assist in putting the business affairs of the estate in good shape. Mr. Harris, being in Chicago, will consult and advise with the executors concerning western matters, and I have agreed to look after eastern affairs. Along with the other duties devolving upon me temporarily is the business of the American Coupler Company. On examination I have found that Mr. Wilson was the sole owner of the stock of that Company, and early in January it is my intention to reorganize it and appoint new officers. Until this is done, we would be glad indeed to continue the business arrangements entered into between yourself and Mr. Wilson, and after the new officers are appointed, I sincerely trust we will receive the benefit of your continued co-operation. At your convenience, you can send to me your check for the amount due the Coupler Company, and I will forward it to the executor. Will you kindly favor me, at your convenience, with your views concerning the number of couplers it will be possible for you to make during the coming year under the American Company's patents.
