January 5th, 1899.

Mr. N.E. Montross,
1380 Broadway, New York City.

My dear Montross:-

I have yours of 4th and [best guess] more after fully. "The Rising Moon" will be packed tomorrow and sent to you by express through Hanna and Noyes. I would like the picture [[?]] for $2500.00. Is your exhibition to consist of one picture only. I thought when you applied for it that it was your intention to open your new rooms with an important exhibition and that you want "The Rising Moon" as a center for one of the walls.

I expect to be in New York next week and if I can find time to do so, I will give you a call and see your improvements.

Yours faithfully,
Charles L Freer
