I have the honor to state in reply to your communication of the 2d inst. that owing to the removal of the Asst. Supt's, in several counties it was rendered impossible to obtain reports of all the indigent freedmen. So far as I have been able to ascertain, there are but seven (7) persons in Matthews Co. supplied with rations by the Govt. Gloucester Co. reports none. New Kent, & King Williams, none. James City was included in York Co..
