and that in suing for their just dues, it takes the whole amount to pay Costs. Can there not to be a remedy. And shall not this Freedmans Court in Richmond he placed by some rules above the suspicion and prejudice of both Col'd. & White? From the daily Complaints made there is certainty a screw loose some where. I am the last man on gods green earth that would question the honesty of any Court without reasonable grounds, but I have witnessed many things in our Freedmans Court, that raised in my breast a prejudice, let us have it on the principle of rule and right, or else let it be entirely done away with - at any time I am called upon I will bring before you my witnesses
