An application (signed G. M. Watkins) for a family of Freedmen to be transfered to my plantation in Mississippi was filed in your office some time since. The following named Freedmen are anxious to go to Miss. Their families will remain in Va. until they can be removed more consequently, such arraingments have been made to prevent them from becoming a tax to the Bureau The men who wish to go are now without employment here and will in a short time become dependent upon the Gov. for support. I think it will be an advantage to them to be transfered. Threfore I respectfully ask that transportation be furnished them
