I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of General Order No. 1. by General Terry from your Head Quarters, directing the mustering out of the 8th Maine Regt. at this Post

I have four assistants from that Regiment and all are called in today. If their places cannot be filled at once, it will enable me to attend to any pressing cases in other Counties. if you choose to send an order for transportation for me or an agent to such places as are reached by Boat.
