without trial the very parties who are treating them with more kindness than they deserve and whilst they profer grattitude it in fact makes them more arrogant.

I am decidedly of the Opinion and this is the Opinion of every true union man in this City that the Southern should never be admitted in the Union with all the privelages of States until the Colored people have the same privelage of voting that white People have

I would not like these Views known to only those you may have Confidence in particularly any of the Legislature, 

Should wish any information at any time that you might think could be best obtained from a Loyal private Citizen. You may confide anything to me that you might in Sumner Stevens, or any other true Loyal man in the Country. I know I am looked upon with surprise and Contempt for holding these views. but not being beholden to them in any way I shall hold to and not conceal my Opinions
