I Amos G Tennant 1st Lt U.S.V. and Assistant Superintendant Freedmans Bureau at Edenton State of North Carolina do certify that I have this day seen the Pardon granted to Dr Thomas D. Warren by Andrew Johnson Pres'dt of the U States and also the amnesty Oath taken & subscribed to by the said Th. D. Warren, the first hearing date the 29th day of June 1865 and the latter the 13th day of same month & year and whenever a letter from the Attorney Gen'l Speed's office saying that the said Warrens pardon had been dated upon & should bear date from the date of his oath, all of which are in due form & are correct - I also further state that evidences of tittle to the Farm King's Creek, situate in York County Va. all good & satisfactory, and that the Wm R Skinner is Clerk of the County Court of Chowan, and that Dr. Coke whose certificate is herewith enclose are both gentlemen of profit and [[?]] to be so relied upon in any statement they may make - Sworn under my hand & seal this the 29th day of Jan'y 1866 - at Edenton N. C
