City of Richmond, to wit:

I, A.D. Williams a Notary Public for the city aforesaid, in the state of Virginia, do certify that Charles L. Mills, whose name is signed to the writing annexed, bearing date on the 28th day July 1860, has acknowledged the same before me in the city aforesaid. And I do further certify that Claudia N., the wife of Charles L. Mills whose names are signed to the writing annexed bearing date on the 28th day of July 1860, personally appeared before me in the city aforesaid, and being examined by me privily and apart from her husband, and having the writing aforesaid fully explained to her, she the said Claudia N. Mills, acknowledged the said writing to be her act, and declared that she had willingly executed the same and does not wish to retract it. 

Given under my hand this 28th day of July 1860
