I forward this statement for the information of the Asst. Comr. having received an order by telegraph to suspend the action of the Freedmen's Court, which order has been forwarded to the Asst. Supt. of Matthews Co.

The Asst. Comr. will see by this statement that the amount to be received by each hand, is not enough to properly clothe him and yet it is the result of a year's toil. This payment should have been made long ago, but th women, Miss Tabb, as I am credibly informed, has been trying to cheat those who worked for her out of any share in the crop, or pay for their labor. If any one is deserving of consideration it is certainly the Freedmen who have borne all the toil, and have reaped none of its results.

I am, Colonel
Very respectfully
Your obedient Servant
C.B. Wilder
Capt. & A.Q.M. & Supt 9th Dist. Va.
