Friday Feb 23 1866 Col' O Brown Sir- On Wednesday Feb 21st a woman was found lying sick before the door of Hd. Qrs' at Chimborazo. I found a place for the night in a very poor family and provided her with a few comforts. I immediately reported her to the commander of the post, who promised to attend to her the next day: but she still lies upon the floor. Yesterday on being again sent for he replied that he could not be bothered with her. What shall be done with her? Respectfully Yours L.E. Williams (over)
