Cultivated was greatly improved, finely tilled, manured &c. and could not but result advantageously to the owner, who had abandoned the same and sought protection within the lines of the enemies of the government:
Attention is also invited to the statement, in regard to the Rents received from "Freedmen", which have all been turned into available funds, accounted for, and are entirely out of the disposition of this office.

Respectfully reforwarded Mr White applied at this office for official statement of crops raised on his farm.  He was told he could not have it, and that it could be given only by order of Col Brown, to whom, if he chose, he might apply.  He had no other "instructions."
