I do solemnly swear in presence of [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] Almighty God, that I will henceforth support, protect, and faithfully defend the constitution of the United States, and will, in like manner, abide by and faithfully support all laws and proclamations which have been made during the existing rebellion with reference to the emancipation of slaves. So help me God.

Tunnell personally appeared before me and took and subscribed to the oath prescribed by the President of the United States in his Amnesty Proclamation of the 29th day of May A.D. 1865, and that the foregoing is a true copy of the oath so taken and subscribed.
