Brother Whipple

I write a line in haste. Mr Weeks has written to Quartermaster Meigs who says that the Bureau Buildings here cannot be disposed of or taken away and put into other forms untill they are condemned and sold

This seems unreasonable and I do not thank Mr W. for raising the question with him about the matter, for certainly I think the Bureau understand otherwise

I am now ready to put up the one at Duall's and I am sorry to have this decision. I can use a Ward as it is or retaining its size so that it shall appear when the account is called in the same dimensions. How may hinderances there are to this matter
