Quartermaster General's Office
Washington D.C. March 30th 1866

Captain C. B. Wilder
A.Q.M.
Fort Monroe Va.

Captain
Your letter of the 26th inst. in which you inquire whether a number of old buildings turned over to you as Supt of the 9th District, Bureau of R.F.&A.L. Va. for the use of the Bureau, to be taken down and expended in various ways, are "to be dropped" from the Q.Mr. papers and returns—has been received.

These buildings are not to be "dropped," until so ordered. They must be accounted for, as any other Quarter Master's property, and unless they have already been reported upon and condemned by an inspector's report, approved by proper authority, and ordered to be dropped from the rolls or expended, such a course must not be pursued with them.

Very Respectfully
Your Obt. Servt.
By order of the Q.M. Gen.
