This deed made this first day of January, A.D. 1861, between Southey S Satchell, of the one part, and Richard B. Winder, of the other part, all of the county of Accomack in the State of Virginia; Witnesseth, that the said Southey S. Satchell for and in consideration of the sum of One Thousand two hundred and fifty Dollars ($1,250.00) to him in hand paid before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, has bargained, granted and sold, and by these presents does bargain, grant and sell unto the said Richard B. Winder, his heirs and assigns, a certain tract of parcel of land commonly known as the Longland containing by estimation Twenty seven acres be the same more of less (but the same is sold and bought in gross and not by the acre) and bounded as follows,viz.  On the East by the County road leading from Drummond-Town to Pungoteague; on the South by the lands belonging to the heirs of Major Custis dec'd and on the West, by the lands belonging to the heirs of William Parramore dec'd, together with all the rights, privileges and appurtenances unto the said tract or parcel of land belonging or in any wise appertaining. to Have and To Hold the above granted premises unto him, the said Richard B. Winder, his heirs and assigns forever.  And the said Southey S. Satchell for himself, his heirs and personal representatives, does hereby covenant promise and agree to and with the said Richard B. Winder, his heirs and assigns as follows:  That he is lawfully seized in fee of the before granted promises that they are free from all incumbrances; that he has a good and perfect right to sell and convey the same to the said Richard B Winder, his heirs and assigns as a foresaid; and that he will, and his personal representatives shall forever warrant and defend the same to the said Richard B Winder, his heirs and assigns forever, against the lawful claims and demands of all persons.
