State of Virginia, &c City of Richmond, to wit:
We L. Carrington and C.W. Purcell Justices of the peace in the city aforesaid, in the state of Virginia, do hereby certify that Agnes Peters, a free woman of color, a party to a certain deed bearing date on the 24th day of November 1849 and hereto annexed, personally appeared before us in our City aforesaid, and acknowledged the same to be her act and deed, and desired us to certify the said acknowledgement to the Clerk of the County Court of Henrico in order that the said deed may be recorded.

Given under our hands and seals this 28 day of Nov 1849

This Indenture was acknowledged in the Clerk's office of Henrico County Court on the 28 day of November 1849 by Joseph M. Carrington a party to the same and with the certificate thereafter written admitted to record.
