Deponent states, that he believes, that if his bounty money passes through the hands of said Brown, that he will deduct said amount of $51.50/100 besides the fees of $20 and also $1. for entering his discharge, as he (Brown) informed him that "it was an order from the Government that the soldiers should draw clothing on account of their bounty.

Deponent states, that on the 4th inst. said Brown told him that he could get more clothing on account of his bounty if he wished, but he (deponent) believing that something was wrong declined.

Deponent further states that many colored soldiers have been imposed on in the same manner, they as well as himself supposing that the proceedings were legal.
