To Genl O. Brown, Commissioner for Virginia.

Your Petitioner E.T. Wynn, administrator of Thomas W. Whittaker decd, would respectfully represent that said Thomas W. Whittaker departed this life, in 1863 - That he was in no manner connected with the rebellion. That he died possessed of four tracts of land lying, being and situated in the County of York, one tract containing Two Hundred & sixty Five acres.  One tract containing Three Hundred acres. One tract Thirty acres, and one other tract Twenty Five acres. These lands lie on the Main Road from Yorktown to Williamsburg. That the estate of the said Thomas W. Whittaker is utterly insolvent - not adequate to pay the debts of the said Whittaker. That your petitioner has taken the oath presented at the Amnesty Proclamation of May 29th 1865, and that he is not embraced within any of the excepted classes. That no proceedings have been instituted against said property for confiscation - That in the restoration of said property no Freedmen will be subjected to molestation. There are but few upon the premises. they have rented for next year In consideration of the premises, your petition would respectfully ask the restoration of said property-
