I have the honor to forward herewith an affidavit relating to an alleged deposit in my hands of three hundred dollars ($300.00) by late Pri. Lewis Johnson, Co. K. 1st U.S.C.C.

With a view to assist in ascertaining the facts in the case, I would recommend that the matter be referred first, (because he is most accessible) to W.H. Wild, late Capt. 36th U.S.C.T., now to be reached by addressing to the care of E.J. Cushing, Providence R.I; and if he knows nothing of the affair, then, second, to Edwd A. Wild, late Brig. Gen. Vols., whose address W.H. Wild can furnish. If this Johnson ever deposited any money with either of us
