I am directed by the Maj: Genl. Comr. to enclose herewith for your information official copy of communication received from Chas. W. Wild, having reference to the case of Lewis Johnson late of Co. "K" 1" U.S.C. Cav. who alleges to have placed the sum of $300 in the hands of one Capt. Allen, for deposit in the Freedmens Savings Bank, Norfolk Va.

Edward A. Wild, late Brig Genl. Vols, has been addressed upon the subject, and the purport of his reply, will be duly communicated to you.
