Respectfully returned to the Asst Comr. with information that Thaddeus Diggs late of Co "F" 1st U.S.C.T. cannot be found. Samuel Ellis late of Co. A, 1st U.S.C.T. was shot by a man named Thaddeus Diggs (white) in Portsmouth Va. in May last. The widow and two children of said Samuel Ellis died of Small Pox in September last - The widow left her affairs in the hands of her Father or Father-in-law.
