I have the honor enclosed to forward for the action of the Asst. Commr. a bill presented against the Bureau by the Overseers of the Poor of New Kent County for [[crossed out]]the[[/crossed out]] support and medical attendance furnished to Amanda an orphan freed girl during an attack of Syphilis.

The facts of the case are as follows;
Amanda (age unknown) was hired to Mr. R. J. Lacy by the Asst. Supt. Bureau R. F. & A. L. shortly after she had gone to his house he discovered that she had the disease above named and refused to keep her, asking me at the time what disposition he should make of her.
