Respectfully returned to Genl O Brown Asst Comr. through Gen. S C Armstrong enclosing copies of all the correspondence in relation to the claim in favor of Mary Hawkins which has ever occured between this office and Mr Williams. No reply has been received to my communication of April 29th marked enclosure No 4
By reference to Mr Williams communication of March 18th it will be seen that he considers that he cannot legally pay the money in question in less time than eighteen months from the granting of letters of administration. I deny most emphatically, that I ever offered the husband of Henrietta Kidd $300– or any other sum for part payment of his claim and I would most respectfully request (if not inconsistent with the rules of the Bureau) the name of the person who is endeavoring by every subtefuge to injure me officially as well as attack my personal integrity.

The husband of Henrietta Kidd is now in King and Queen County but will return on the 29h inst when his affidavit will be forwarded in regard to the matter
