Although in justice to the Authorities I might say that this is the best they can do under the circumstances it is far from meeting the wants of the sick and infirm and the attendance though as good as can be expected aught to be much better. I was called upon today to visit two sick beds. And the two invalids are without homes and one a young man came here but lately from the State of Georgia. The overseers of the Poor find them with free medical attendance. They are laying sick with colored friends who took them in. If it is compatible I would humbly request that a hospital for the destititute sick might be established at this place. [[strikethrough]] if compatible. [[/strikethrough]]

Very respectfully,
Your obedient Servant
John O. O'Neill
