A Marriage Register is kept as authorized by Cir No 11. Series 1866. The four paragraphs of the above mentioned Cir. are and have been complied with as required in said Circular. 
Provisions are made by each County for the support of indigent Freedpeople the same as Whites. 
The supply and demand for labor are about equal. 
Schools, Much interest has been taken in schools in Washington County. There have been three within the County. One at Abingdon one at Bristol and one at Saltville. At Abingdon and Bristol houses are being erected by aid of the Bureau and private donations. The school at Saltville has been sustained mostly by Freedmen. The house has been provided by the Corporation. The Schools at Abingdon and Bristol are dependent upon Northern teachers and are expected to open in Oct next.
