needed! On that occasion he stated that he had taken some females to ride in the ambulance, showed me some letters from certain Females which contained indelicate allusions, and invited me to join with him in these pursuits, which I at once refused, much to his chagrin apparently.

On one occasion I was invited to be present at an amputation by Dr. Warner. Dr. Stratton performed the tourniquet was not properly adjusted. I asked
Drs. Stratton and Warner on several occasions how the man was doing and was informed "very well indeed." I finally called myself and found that the patient was suffering from improper nursing and was then told by Dr. Warner that Dr. Stratton attended to these matters. On another occasion I was called by Dr. W. to look at a woman and advise on the propriety of amputating a leg. I found her with ulcerations along the whole length of the tibia (left leg) and no dressing but a piece of canvass which was glued to the leg and when pulled off caused considerable hemorrhage. I advised against amputation and suggested a course of treatment which was not to my knowledge adopted although Dr. W. promised "that it should be done at once."

After Dr. Warners absence, I was called by Dr. Stratton to look at this same woman again and asked the same question and gave the same reply as I did to Dr. Warner.
