In compliance with instructions on Saturday last, I made a personal inspection of the Chesterfield County Jail, and have the honor respectfully to make the following report.
At the present time there are only (5) five inmates of the Jail, all of which was colored, the following are a list of the prisoners. Richmond Gregory, committed December 24th 1861 charged with the murder of a colored man, in Manchester, a true bill has been formed against him, and he will be tried before the Circuit Court of said County, which will meet in May next.
