Your communication in regard to the col'd child, Georgianna, is to hand, and I hasten to  reply.  In the first place, it is alleged, that her Parents are both dead, which I believe to be untrue.  I hired her mother  to a man in Charlottesville, Va, and had to take her home, before the close of the year, on account of pregnancy, and the father of her child was White; if he is dead, I have not heard it.  Her mother went off and left her before the fall of Richmond, and the last, I heard from her, she was in Southwestern, Va. I do  not believe, she is dead.  After the fall of Richmond, her half Aunts left clandestinely; having the child in the house with them, could have taken
