I wish to know if you can in any way secure me an office by which I can support my family I have lost all my property & am entirely out of business.
I will furnish you any reference of character you desire can take any oath required never having had anything whatever to do with the War.  There is an office to fill at this place.  The guarding & taking care of the buried Soldiers, here. Will you be kind enough to give me the benefit of your influence in obtaining that [[strikethrough]] a [[/strikethrough]] situation.
