Major,
I have the honor to submit the following report in the case of Cordelia Hazle vs. Geo. G. Thompson and James Barbom, and enclose herewith the statements of those gentlemen in reference to the matter.

Mr. Barbour it will be seen has offsetts against Cordelia's claim, but evinces a willingness to have the matter adjusted. Mr Barbour afterwards saw Mr. Thompson, who it seems is unable pecuniarily to meet the demand of payment but submit jointly a proposition to settle according to a proposition submitted by said Thompson to Mr. Henry Shackleford, Dist Atty, who states, he has written last week to Cordelia, to which he states, he (Shackleford) has received no reply.
