It is a very uncommon occurrence to see a colored child whose parents are living, or even relatives, but what is a regular attendant at some one of the many schools established for their benefit and I am most heartily and truthfully answer the benefactors of such schools that their "Bread is cast upon the waters." and will be seen and felt at a "future day."
Reports have been freely circulated through the press of the City of Richmond that Military organizations were formed among the Colored people of Hanover and King William Counties. I have examined the matter and find that such organizations exist only in the imaginations of those who are spoken of in the Scriptures as "Fleeing where no man Pursueth".
That charitable organizations exist among these people is a fact I am proud to chronicle.
