Floyd County to wit

This day George V. Corill personally appeared before me a Justice of the Peace and made oath as aforesaid that he was at Soloman Spanglers in Nov 1865 and Stephen Childress came there and examined the horse that the said S. Spangler had in his possession. I asked him if that was his horse he (S. Childress) said it was not. The horse was a dark gray and had fistula very badly and had an old brand, U.S, The horse was at that time worth not more than ten dollars The horse which S. Childress examined in my presents is the same horse that S. Spangler now has in his possession, which S. Childress claims to be his.

Given under my hand this the 3rd day of May 1866
Wm. H. Akers, JP
