My dear Bels. Rachel Dixon desires me to write a few lines for her, stating her character. I have known her and her husband for several years & know them to be industrious, honest & highly respectable people. They are unable to procure employment & are now in very needy circumstances. They have two children and no means of feeding them! She asks only for food until her husband can get work. I am still quite sick or I would go & try to aid her myself. I hope dear friend that you are well. Remember me affectionate to you dear mother. In haste yours most truly.
