Richmond, Va., Apl. 19th 1867. Respectfully forwarded to Maj. Genl. Howard Comr. There are located on this farm two large school Houses Twenty Hospital Buildings, the National Cemetery and a church. Genl. Armstrong reports that the interests of the Freedmen will suffer by the giving up of the Property. Dr. Wood is endorsed as a loyal man by the writer of this application The Commissioner, in endorsement of Jan 8th 1866, ordered that this property be retained under provisions of Cir. No. 20 Series 1865. O Brown Bvt. Brig. Genl. Vols Asst Com.
