His tenants are ready and willing to pay his rent, and if he was so disposed, could make an income from his farm at the present rates of $900 per annum. I have offered him the use of the office for the transaction of his business, but am unwilling to receive and receipt for his money. Every other assistance, I am ready and have cordially offered to him.
   The feeling concaved in this entire matter by Mr. Cook has been most bitter and uncalled for; nothing but old prejudices can account for the same.
