In compliance with Cir. No. 16 Hd Qrs Asst. Comm'r Dist of Virginia, C.L. 1867, I have the honor to submit the following report.
I have complied with Par 2 of Ten. Orders No 51. Hd Qrs 1st Milty Dist. C.L. 1867 and have to report that the Overseers of the Poor in the Counties of Nottoway and Lumenburg Va will properly call for and provide for all of the colored paupers now in charge of this Bureau who have resided in the above named counties during the past two years.
The amount and character of the support to be given on and after the 1st of Oct 1867 will be to those who are entirely destitute they will be sent to the County Poor Houses where they will be properly fed and clothed. To those who are living with friends or at their homes and needing assistance, a moderate amount of money per year will be allowed them
