Respectfully refered to Brvt Maj Gen J.M. Schofield with request, that if consistent, that the within named person be allowed Rations, his family are in extreme want and must go to the county alms house if not assisted by the Government, he has a number of relatives in the county who are able to assist him but will not in consequence of his having assisted the Government during the war.

He has been and is a patriotic and loyal man and it is for that that he is in his present condition
