To Genl O. O. Brown, Chief of the Bureau of R.F.& A. L. for the District of Virginia.
Your applicants, Sarah Covington, Wm. D. Rudd, and Nancy Rudd, an infant in this their appliction for the restoration of a lot in the town of Hampton, Virginia, humbly present the following statement.
That Edward Rudd died prior to the year 1860 and at his death was seized of a certain lot of land situated in the town of Hampton, State of Virginia, and bounded on the North by the lot of J. Lake, on the East by the lot of James Hicks and on the South & West by Hampton Creek, which said lot of land is now in possession of the Bureau of R.F.& A.L. as abandoned, and charged to Sarah Covington. 
That the said lot now belongs to Wm. D. Rudd and Nancy Rudd the heirs at law of Edward Rudd and Sarah Covington his widow which is evidenced by the certificate of an order of the county - Court of Elizabeth City County filed herewith. 
Your applicants - would further state that no proceedings have been instituted against them in the District Court of the U. States at Norfolk as evidenced by the certificate of
