Bvt Brig Genl O. Brown A.A.A.G. Richmond Va

General:

I have the honor to request that my property in this place - house and lot, libeled for confiscation and now nominally in the possession of the Bureau of R.F. & A.L. be restored to me. This property was libeled while it was occupied by George R. Hearst who was at the time, in the rebel army; in all probability a party who reported it for confiscation was under the impression that it belonged to him.
I am happy to state that I have been a loyal man in the U.S. Court during the late war
I am, Genl, Very Respectfully Your Obt Servt. Samuel Gover
