-gressing to the satisfaction of all its friends, a wonderful change on this subject has passed through the minds of the Whites, and they are clamerous for Colored Schools.  There are about 250 Scholars - children and Adults attending School.  At Beaver Dam, one young lady has set an example worthy of being followed by others in Virginia, giving two days in each week, gratuiously, in educating the freedpeople.  Justice in this County is now finding its proper channel, and but few complaints are lodged by the freedpeople against the Whites, at the Bureau and whenever one enters his complaint it is instantly and fairly investigated by the Asst Sub. Ass't Com'r whom, I  found to be an energetic and active agent.
