My Dear Daughter
I take this opportunity which now presents itself of answering your very welcome letter that came to hand a few days ago  I was very glad to hear from you  This leaves us all well hoping it may find you enjoying good health  I was baptised last Sunday at Upperville they had to cut the ice 
 
I am glad to inform you that I have a good home for you as long as you live  I raised a good crop of corn this year  I have plenty of hogs to kill to last me another year  but I have not got the money to spare to go
