For documentary evidence touching this case I refer you to the records of K Wm Court - and that I am the more inclined to presume and know that favors were shown Garnett, the atty for the Commonwealth argued the inadmissibility of bail also associate prosecutor B.B. Douglass, and clearly proved on law that such a case was not bailable, was permitted to bail, as the assassin and this favored ab initio; & is fare to guess in my behalf, he will be favored last, and I am willing to steak my credit, in advance of this trial and say this bloodstained handed man will be favored. I have drawn up this humble petition, with my own head and hand, being one of the very few colored that can write in the South - and am Dear general your humble Petioner in pain and suffering

Before quitting the subject of my request I'll delvent a little to the arguments of Rebel Col. W. R Aylett who hel forth on behalf of his client G - that the question of equality bt the negro & the wht was two new for his people yet and cited with much boldness the case of Dr. Watts on in support of his argument.
