her - that some time since, upon two occasions she found head lice, but Mrs Lowery cut her hair - which had become long - and she soon got rid of them.

She states that she has never been whipped since she lived with Mr Lowery. - that she is well satisfied where she is, that she did say to Champ that she would like to go home, but that she wished to go back again and live with Mr. Lowery. Mr Lowery makes no objections to the mother or Champ visiting the girl and has so told them.

There is no foundation whatever for the statement made by Champ Carter.

This is the fourth time an investigation has been made relative to the binding of this child to Mr Lowery and this man Carter has annoyed us very much with mis-statements, and has also annoyed Mr Lowery.

I most respectfully recommend that this child remain where she is. I believe it to be for her present and ultimate good.

Very Respectfully
Your Obdt Servt
