effect that it was to the interest of all concerned that the girl should remain with the party to whom she was apprenticed, which I presume was satisfactory as no orders have since been received relative to restoring the child, or otherwise.

At the time Mr. Lowery got the child she was with her Grandmother in the Bureau Hospital at Fredericksburg Va. and was entirely dependent on the Government for her support.

The child is kindly treated by Mr. Lowery, and I have no doubt she is better cared for now than she would be if she was with her mother.
