Forwards report of a disturbance which occurred in that town on Court day - 20 inst. caused by two men - Wm B. Micon, constable, & James Mundy - exciting a riot and who threatened to take his life. The ruffians collected at his door and remained from one o'clock until dark trying to get into his office. Open declaration by gang has been made to kill him. Requests to be furnished with fifteen or twenty enlisted men to protect him.

This is not the first time this officers life has been threatened and in jeopardy.
