I have to report that there is an old Freed woman in King and Queen County, whose name I have forgotten, in a very bad condition, one of her limbs is very badly swollen and occasionally breaks out; she has been in this situation, suffering very much, without medical aid and the physicians refuse to attend her, she is provided for by a union man of that county and nursed by his wife who first notified me of her suffering. The old woman wants her leg amputated and in my opinion it is necessary it should be done to save her life.
I earnestly request that she be admitted to the Hospital at Fredericksburg or Richmond with the least possible delay and that transportation be
